We participated in our 2nd COTES (Church on the Eastern Shore) 242 Tailgate/Fall Festival yesterday and had a great time. There was great food, great music, awesome costumes, and loads of fun stuff for the kids. Our group was the "Swine Flu Infirmary" and as you can see, I was the doctor and Jason was the swine flu patient. All the ladies dressed up in our lab coats and stethescopes, and the guys were lucky enough to wear these lovely flying pig hats and gowns!! Thanks guys! You are definitely "real" men:) We didn't win any of the prizes (it must have been staged!) but had lots of fun! I have to say that I have had the most fun with my COTES family since first attending the church about two years ago. There are some awesome people there, and I feel lucky to be a part of such a wonderful church family.

Oh My!
Marissa goes to a local Pre-K program here in Fairhope and they work on the "Curly Q" behavior system. If your child is good then he/she will receive a smiley face with a curly q (looks like a piece of curly hair), if the child has gotten in trouble then they will just receive a smiley face, and if the child hits or has to be repeatedly warned then they receive a straight face. Well, Marissa has gotten Curly Q's all year up until the other day when she just got a smiley face. She and another little girl wanted to talk all day and not listen to the teacher so she lost her curly q! As we were driving home, I was explaining to Marissa that it wasn't nice to misbehave and how she should always listen to her teacher. Then Marissa begins to tell me how she will fix this problem. She tells me that when she gets home she will just draw a curly q on the smiley face she got and color through the curly q that is on the other smiley face. Then she says, "Daddy will never know, and he'll think that I got a curly q!" I tried everything to not let her see me laugh!! How in the world did her little mind think of that? I guess Jason and I will have to pay very close attention to her report cards throughout school now=)!!!

I'm a blogger!
Well, I'm trying this whole blog thing! I enjoy looking at others' pages and reading about what is going on in their lives so I figured I would join them. Don't get too excited though because I have no idea what I will even talk about. I guess we'll see!
